On this day, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra from Katowice will be travelling by sea on Polish training ship, the 'Dar Młodzieży' into the Port of Dover as part of a series of cultural events in European ports to recognise 200 years since the birth of Chopin. The Dar Młodzieży ship will be at Terminal 2 (Western Docks) in Dover and will welcome visitors during the day. This voyage is part of a tour of European ports, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Oslo, Dover and Boulogne-sur-Mer, following the voyage undertaken by Chopin almost two centuries ago.
During the prestigious evening event, the Polish National Symphony Orchestra of Katowice will be conducted by Jacek Kasprzyk, an international conductor who has toured with many of the most acclaimed British Orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic, as well as conducted major operas around the world including La Scala in Milan.
The 'DFDS Seaways Under the Flag of Chopin' event will start at 7.00pm, doors open at the town hall from 6.30pm. It will be an evening of breathtaking music performed by the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra - the most renowned orchestra in Poland
