Looked out first thing with a view to putting out fresh water and there were 2 wood pigeons and a magpie scavenging in the grass and and at least 6 small birds on the feeders.

The little ............ are eating us out of house and home at the moment! Most days we more tits and sparrows and dunnocks then you can wave a stick at, up to four jays, two robins, two thrushes, wood pidgions and ring necks, black birds and starlings, we also have a new visitor in the garden - a grey squirrel has moved in!

I've a Jack Russell and a rabbit if you're feeding all comers.

Not had to replenish my feeders for over a week, sparrows and blue tits don't have big appetites, maybe it is as Jan said earlier in the thread and they go through phases in individual gardens. Although not in Phil's by the sound of it.

I am thinking of applying for a grant to start a food bank! and maybe a homeless shelter too, the squirrel has just chewed the bottom out of the peanut feeder (which was full) so all the ground feeders have had a partry! Good job I have a spare metal feeder to replace it, let's see him chew the bottom out of that!

Our squirrel did the same thing not on the metal peanut feeder but the plastic seed holder, which reminds me I must get a spare.

I've got 4 feeders for small birds hanging up but the only one I've seen at them is the local robin. There were several frustrated wood pigeons trying to get at the food, so I've taken pity on them and scattered some on the ground.

I used to scattter foodstuffs on the path underneath the feeders for wood pigeons and collared doves but the resident seagull soon sussed that out and polished the lot off in one go.

I get an invasion of pigeons if I so much as think about scattering food.

Feeders replenished at the Riverside centre but not many customers.

Quite funny watching the sparrows on the feeders today that were swinging wildly in the strong wind. Had a lone wood pigeon in earlier, normally they turn up in pairs.

Going past Morrisons on Wednesday I noticed the moorhens looked like they had paired up and were staking a claim on their usual nesting area on the island.

Bit of overcrowding at the Riverside centre today.

We have had several bluetits looking at our bird boxes recently, so maybe spring is in the air!

This is proving very popular with Magpies, mealworm in a coconut shell. Put one out 3 days and it was empty in no time, the one pictured I put out this afternoon.

I must be the only one putting up feeders in my area, both these were full to brim 4 days ago. Just refilled the fatball one and by the time I got back to the kitchen window there must have been about 10 birds either on the feeder or waiting on the tree branches.

Noticed the other day that the feeder with seeds in was not going down so as today was dry enough I replenished the fatball feeder and noticed that there was a white fungus growing at the bottom inside of the seed feeder, no wonder they weren't eating from there.

The rain gets into the seed feeders so the seeds get wet at the bottom, one of the reasons I stopped using this type of feeder. The birds I get certainly seem to prefer the fat balls.

Was just putting out some fresh water for the birds and a robin arrived, landed on the fat ball feeder and started dining. Normally just opening the back door makes them disappear like the clappers.
