  the chief constable of kent police today announced the likelihood of 1500 jobs going in the force over the next 4 years to cover funding cuts of 20%.
  
  approx 1000 civilian jobs and 500 police jobs.
  
  how many civilians can there be if they can afford to get rid of 1000?
  
  he added that he expects most will be natural wastage, retirement and resignations.

  good post howard,but the big question is can the county of kent afford to lose 500 coppers,with it being front line and being the nearist county to mainland europe.

  the thing that bothers me is whether they count pcso's as civilian, i would hate to see some of them go they are the only ones we actually see, other than the town centre copper.
