I cannot believe these stupid politicians have wasted £9.3 billion British taxpayers money on this sports day

Was not going to post a reply on this one but then got annoyed. GROW UP AND MODERATE YOUR LANGUAGE. If you don't like it don't watch it.

and Do I get the option not to pay for it too, in your word
??

I'm afraid, Keith, that unless you edit out the offending word, the moderators will give you the option of not posting on here for a while.
Using profanity among friends in private is one thing. Using that language on a public forum is not clever, and it needs to be deleted ASAP.

im with you on this one
keith b is quite able to make strong points without such postings
and maybe best to delete the offending words to save the thread getting into a debate that never was
but of course its a choice thing

This is the second thread Keith has started on this subject.
Disinterested as I am in sport and I will not be watching (other than then opening and closing ceremonies) and peed off by the excessive hype and outraged by the sponsors excesses, I have to disagree.
Good luck to the competitors.

Do you not still feel a swelling of pride when British athletes win medals, Barry?

Let him without sin cast the firs stone.

Peter - No simply because I won't be watching it. I truly hope they do well, but I just have no interest in the actual sport.

3000 new homes made from the Olympic village Keith, plus all that work for the construction industry.
It can't all be bad.
If only there was some kind of swearing event.

I saw the offensive opening post in its entirety last night and decided it was not worthy of a response.
I do not begrudge one penny of my tax money going on the Olympics, it should at least lift the morale of the UK.

3000 home (With out kitchens) for 9.3 billon and .4 in ten . jobs going to Foreigners.
You argument is a wet one mister DTI.
9.3 billion / 3000 = three million one hundred thousand. I hope you don't teach maths
Nice to see you so laid back about it all jan ,good girl
PS.And don't forget the dome, that other big waist

Good point, I forgot about the the jobs going to foreigners Keith.
I've also heard (and this may be a rumour) that most of the competitors are foreigners too. It's outrageous, the British tax payer footing the bill for a bunch of foreigners to win our medals.
The next time we host the games, we should ensure that all competitors are British.

dti
I never mentioned the nationality of the competitors????
I just responded to your post, you thinking that 9.3 billon for 3000 homes is good value.
It just amazes me the way some people think it ok to squander public money.
