Unfortunately the people you are talking about would also be looking out at Dover as it is today. Apart from getting a Richard Branson on the council and prepared to spend his own money you need to engender a pride in Dover that the late and unlamented Dover Pride never could. To do that you have to give the younger people in Dover a future they can see as being worthwhile spending in the town. A part of that would be affordable homes so that they can have roots and a knowledge that the town looks after its heritage and open spaces. As it stands now, apart from the excellent work of the WHPS, little can be seen on either front and house prices continue to creep up beyond levels anyone working in Dover can afford. Just as allotments should not be sold off nor should be our parks.
