#14, Howard, just finished reading 2 independent consultant reports on Manston. Both conclude that without night flights Manston is not a viable commercial airport. Both conclude that in order to grow night flights for Manston are essential.

It seems from both reports that I've read that night flights would mean aircraft being allowed to start taking off from the airport at 0600-0700 and that unrestricted landings would need to be allowed up until 2300, but that some small number of flights would need to be permitted up until 0100.

Consultant recommendations include the airport operator paying for full sound proofing on some properties and partially paying for sound proofing on a whole load of others.

Neither report that I've read recommended not proceeding with night flights. Still trying to find a report that recommends no night flights.
