21:5766126just thought i would add this one, recieved a text message about 2 weeks ago from someone called trish that wanted to inform someone called jess that she would not be into work that day.
i rang back and left a message on her voicemail to the effect that she had the wrong number.
undeterred she left another message last week to the same affect, then today i get a third message advising jess that she could not get into work, some spurious excuse about her budgie having a sore throat or similar.
i sent a message straight back saying that she was dismissed without notice due to her continual absences and dire work performance when she bothered to turn up.
thought the penny would drop, not so, just now i received another text telling me she had been to citizens advice and would be taking me to a tribunal.
jess will not know what hit him or her.
would love to be a fly on the wall.

22:4666134Blimey Howard - you're taking a chance putting that on a public forum mate!! What if these people read it, put 2 and 2 together ...........

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

22:5966138I had a voicemail a few weeks ago, sounded like setting up a drug deal in north London. I texted back OK, now waiting for the knock on the door from PC plod.

09:4766166Would that you could really sack someone as easily in real life (I mean for poor work attendance).

11:1366172Diana I used to work for the Civil Service and yes it happened. The persons concerned were given warnings and a chance to do something about it but in the end they were sacked for poor attendance.

11:2466173you will all be pleased to know that trish and jess have made up.
i have just received another text informing jess that she will not be making into work today!!
this is because she is waiting for "a" level results, but will make up for it by working monday and tuesday.
do members feel that this is the final straw or should she be given another choice?

11:0173493I once got a random text asking me to, ahem, 'do intimate things' to whoever sent me the message. I replied 'Well, thanks very much, but as I have no idea who you are, I'm not sure it would be entirely appropriate', or some such. I got a horribly apologetic reply explaining she had meant to sent it to her boyfriend and had mistyped his number. It was very funny!

12:0973498had another text from tiff, detailing her efforts in getting to work, she drove and had to stop halfway as she kept "chucking up".
felt so sorry for her, my heart went out.
needless to say, i sent her a text to say that was sacked.
