Sad news indeed Paul. I last saw him at a Merchant Navy Day a couple of years ago. Always very friendly and made a point of saying hello.

Yes he will be missed,we did not see eye to eye at times but he was a real reporter not like some today who just sit at a laptop waiting for news to come to them, he came up to our house a few times when he was after some news.

Sadly don't have those type of reporters from either of the two papers
