I like most of you shop on sunday but it is wrong,Sunday is not only the lords day, it is the day when all familys where they can should all be with each other.I lost all my family even today my own children have nothing to do with me I have nor seen or had word of some of them for over 30years, and I was the one in the wrong at weekends I was most ofthe time working and if I was not working I was out with my mates and then working overseas for over a year, what has this got to do with this post you might say, well all I AM SAYING IS do not do what I DONE and Sunday is the family day ,it is very hard because we all deed money but if all the outlets were closed on Sunday it would help familys.

My views are that staff working on a Sunday to service our needs should receive some form of 'extra' payment or enhanced rates. When in a former life in the civil service we were paid time and half for Saturdays and double time for Sundays.

a lot of the enhanced rates of pay for sundays and bank holidays went awol with the advent of the minimum wage.
most shop workers will confirm this.

I appreciate and know that Howard but it doesn't deter me from advocating enhanced rates for weekend workers in the service industries.

wont happen though, with the likely change of government, i fear for the present minimum wage.
either frozen or cut.
