Why are they saying on the radio that people panic buying fuel is going to add £30m to the governments coffers this year ??
Surely people will still need to travel the same distance and need the same amount of fuel this year, and if they buy it now it will actually be cheaper than it will be if they left it a bit later and therefore less money to the government ???????!!!!!!

If the worst comes to the worst, there is a BP station in the rue Mollien in Calais, 3 minutes from the docks, so no need to panic.

that is how the government has looked over the past couple of days, corporal jones must have made a big impression on them.
the joke is that a strike has not even been called yet.

But the tanker drivers will have been earning loads of overtime this week to keep up with the panic, and nobody will want fuel next week as their tanks are full, so they'll get a nice long Easter break to spend it on.

The bad week for the government continues, and yes indeed it has been a 'weekus 'orribilis' right across every issue for them...from the pastie to the granny tax, and now the PR gets worse because now the story has just reached Sky News that a woman, following Francis Maude's instructions re filling a jerrican, has set herslf on fire transferring petrol from one jerrican to another at her home. She has 40% burns to her entire body. The 24 hour media will make much of this, much political capital..ammunition. The Fire Brigade have warned against this whole notion of storing petrol, it is very dangerous..
People are panic buying all over the place too.

"Woman suffers 40% burns when petrol ignited as she was transferring it to containers in her kitchen, North Yorkshire fire and rescue service says. More details soon ..."

People don't care what the government(s) say 99% of the time so why are they listening now !!!!!!!!!
People are just stupid and causing the problem themselves....
