the party night of the year is tomorrow and is usually an excuse for everyone to have a knees up.
doesn't seem like it this year, i haven't seen any pubs making a big thing of it.
are the public cutting back on going out, normally the months of january and february are grim for our hostelries and march the 17th tends to kick start things.

The shops are bedecked with an Irish flavour over here and a large number of boozers have imported Irish folk bands. Even the local commercial radio is getting into the swing of things by playing Irish bands and music throughout the day.

There may well be a few pints supped quietly at home........but there isn't as much public fol-de-rol as usual it has to be said.

There'll be a delayed St Patricks at The Fox in Temple Ewell on Saturday, celtic musician Jim Bainbridge supported by The Mighty Cowpats.
He was a local many years ago (I think in Customs) and does a tour of the folk clubs back in East Kent most years. He'll be playing somewhere in Romney Marsh tomorrow, not a place to venture in the dark.

Ray
Does Steve Hawes still frequent the Fox? Or is he still on the wagon?

Marek, I don't know the name but I might know the face! I'm not a regular there, go every couple of weeks or so and usually lunchtime but I'll ask on Saturday.

Card shops especially have been mentioning St Patrick's Day for weeks now. However I saw nary a one that mentioned St David's Day. Odd that.

We do Murphy's. However we are more inclined to celebrate St George than St Patrick.

If you want beer on tick you will have to deposit those boots as security.

The Prince Albert is being bedecked as I write and will be serving Guinness half price all day tomorrow.
Also The Old Dairy Brewery Red, Blue and Gold Top all on draught, and very nice they all are.
