  I but admire from afar
  I know of much it is you do
  within a sky of deepest blue
  you are a shining star
  
  A Local Politician's lot
  can be a thankless task
  with tribulations fraught
  and toil so oft for naught
  while carpers freely bask
  
  Sure there's many you do meet
  of constituents in the lurch
  much travelled in your Seat
  yet so seldom off your feet
  when not in Hall or Church
  
  Mayhap the doubters you, will heed
  and to your side process
  to receive the ear they dearly need
  and upon your wisdom eager feed
  and a mutual respect profess
  
  It must be said, there's others too
  who likewise hark to plaint
  that thankless do as they should do
  as likely Red as there are Blue
  and many whose figure's faint
  
  Let us remain positive throughout
  and positive out-through
  encourage all those who doubt
  be they landed-lord or lowly-lout
  as we joint progress pursue
