Yes indeed I was at a business function up there at the Castle some time ago and was surprised to find that the Cable Car was something real, having initially thought myself that it was an april fool joke, but no.. reality is kicking in. The Castle see it as a fantastic tourist novelty which will wheel people/visitors in directly to them on a huge daily basis. People will use the Cable Car as a novely while at the same time the CC destination will obviously set these people down in the clutches of the Castle...so its a cant lose for the Castle.

The alternative, although much less glamouous alternative, to the Cable car idea was mooted by Deputy Mayor David Hannent at his recent business lunch in the Light of India. During that lunch he suggested that the coach park at the top of the hill, you know the one next to the Castle, be closed and a new coach park found within the realms of the Town...so that the Town benefits from Castle visitors too. Another interesting idea there perhaps..although the mightier move seems to be behind the Cable Car at this time.

I wonder will a statement be issued. If indeed it is Frederick Scales in the picture, who is Deputy Leader to Paul Watkins, but alas alas he is not a man given much to communication with the voter. Something of a grey ghost.
