If you're allergic to hawthorn blossom, look away now. If not, do get up there in the sun and be dazzled.

As preparation for the England match I decided to forgo my normal practice of adorning my neck with the flag of the Cross of Saint George and downing 10 pints of cheap lager, and instead took a morning walk in the colours and sounds of good old England. Some poppies in there, viper's bugloss and samphire, maybe field scabious. Not sure of the others. But you'll have to go yourselves to hear the yellowhammers, whitethroats, skylarks and chiffchaffs, or see the buzzards.
Bugger that, though, back to lager for the Belgium match.

White looks like wild carrot and the pink likely valerian and oil seed rape?, definately scabiosa. Certainly beautiful, must get my lazy arse up there!

Thanks RB. I think both the white and pink are Valerian, and also some Mallow and Knapweed bottom right.

I did think white valerian but then convinced myself it was the same as the carrot I planted last week!
Is it just me or are the wildflowers much more vibrant and prolific this year?

I had one that passed away in September then rose from the grave in October and finally popped its clogs about a month ago. All very confusing for our plant life at the moment, I blame that David Attenborough for inventing global warming.

Some crocuses (or is that 'croci'?) that have managed to stay out of the way of the dogs in Connaught Park this morning:

Worryingly early this year. It'll have blown away by May, and 'March blossom' doesn't have the same ring to it.
