1: the pole at the top is higher in the first photo.
2.the left wall on the bottom left side of photo 2 has one slab, that in photo 1 has two slabs

3: the tower in photo 1 has 2 lines on the left side, in photo 2 it has 3 lines.
4+5: the tower in photo 1 has a wider section of upper brick-wall to the top right and a smaller section of "wooden bridge".
6: the top part of the wall on the right of the church is straight in photo 1, and ziz-zag downwards in photo 2.
7: There is more shade along the pathway in photo 2.

I was trying to work out if no 8 was where Alex had been in and cemented a few bricks back

was thinking along those lines ray, saving the fortifications for future generations single handedly, not dissimilar to that dutch lad that stuck his fingers in the dyke.
