an excellent brew alec.
if it is good enough for those chimpanzees it is good enough for me.
incidentally, best to keep a supply of the darjeeling just in case posh makes a state visit to whitfield.
one has to be prepared, doesn't one?

Ah, sorry chaps a bit late due to estate business, I popped into the hostelry around 5pm, whilst there sampled a glass of 'Zulu' ale, very nice it was too

Howard, if you remember on another thread I said that I'm allergic to tea unfortunately and the chimps brew was the last to touch my lips.

What a pathetic thread, so what if he hasn't knocked on your door, if he had, you would be complaining he should be out doing something better or some other such nonsense. It got a bit cloudy today, was that his fault?

Howard.
I agree wholeheartedly that everyone is entitled to their view and I seriously enjoy reading and taking in points of view from Barry and Sid and all the other posters, whether I agree with them or not. I do not believe for one minute that everyone should be the same and share the same beliefs.
But I am fed up with this personal slighting from all sides, that are neither helpful or have any point to them, this is my view, which I am entitled to.

of course you are entitled to your view gary, but you did say that the thread was pathetic.
sadly with the election on, personal slights do get thrown about a bit, it should calm down soon.

If this post of SP`s about MP`s gets you down, go to CP`s.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

All I want from my MP is someone who is truthful, caring and wants to make a difference not someone who is bigoted, lying expenses claiming tw*t.
I am not the best person in the world and freely admit that to all and sundary but I want to help improve society before it implodes and pray that our elected representatives feel likewise.

i don't think we have a bad selection of candidates here marek, gwyn was cleared of all wrongdoing, chas has been working hard here for some time, vic is vic, he lives and breathed dover, don't know the other 4 well enough yet to give a judgement.

Howard
I did not slur any candidate or party from Dover or elsewhere and know most of the chaps standing for election personally. My post reflects what I think the British public now require from their MP.
Its not too much ask....surely?

i never thought you were slurring anyone, i was merely making the point that we are luckier than some here in dover.
some of the creeps, charlatans and dipsticks that are honourable members in safe seats, are beyond the pale.

It was "Well, he's never been to my front door" that i found pathetic, not the whole thread.

take your point gary.
i believe you live in aylesham, do you get much electioneering from all the parties?
i would imagine it being more a labour stronghold because of the mining background.

GARY. I will be out your way week after next, but mywife and my self was out at your great Fowlmead park last weekend and looking forward to your event later in the year.

Gary, the posting in the context of the claim made by GP's party machine that he is out knocking on doors every week. He's been the MP for D&D for many years now, and yet, no sign of GP OR his election/party machine at my door throughout that time. Not one knock in 10 years or so! I own the door to a house with at least three potential votes for GP, and he appears to be disinterested. Maybe he is so cock-sure of winning without the three votes potentially on offer?
Anyway, that is why I questioned where GP was putting himself about and asking if he was only banging on the doors of Labour voters.
I think it was Howard who rightly pointed out that for an election you need to get after those who you think might vote for you if you have a word, not the committed souls who will vote for you whatever happens.
Surely you don't find that pathetic now?

fair comment sid, may i just add that gp has an open surgery one saturday a month in the open air outside the town council offices.
people rush past without bothering to speak to him and then complain that he is never around.
Howard, fair play, but I rarely get into the Town Centre, and if I do want to feel really depressed I watch an episode of Corrie..

One sight of GP in the town is enough to make anyone run in the opposite directionm, Howard
