    Without wishing to cause offence to either mountains or molehills, I think that both the 'offences' in the above articles are really making mountains from molehills. It is either politically motivated, as has been noted above, or it is one of these strange circumstances where people become offended on behalf of others. I think that slavery, at least the period under discussion, is now so far in the past that it surely can't be a taboo subject, especially when you look into the identities of some of the famous Britons who made their fortunes from it, still being highly regarded by large numbers of the populace.
    My daughter's friend has recently got herself 'in the family way'. (I love that expression), and my daughter and I were discussion termination as an option for her friend. I gave my opinion, to which my daughter commented, 'I'm not against abortion, but I am against it used as a form of contraception.' This had never occurred to me before, must be the sheltered life I've lead, but it puts Cllr. Frost's comments into a more realistic light.
