The Ladies who ran it were hoping to be the new owners, I don't know if that is still the case though.

went past this morning, they have rearranged the shop but it looks like they are selling much the same as before.
o.k. with me i rather liked their pastry items especially the ones with sausage and tomato in.

i don't know whether the previous ladies are running it, could only see the young bloke that worked in there when it was cooks.
As indicated by my increasing girth, pastries are always an acceptable comestible in my house........

Noticed a sign in the window of Smart Stationery saying "Let by Tersons". Anyone know any more?

interesting sue we seem to doing better than most with shops at the moment, there was a "let by" sign outside a shop close to savers too.
not too far short of a full house if things carry on like this.

Certainly very good news for Dover, the businesses and residents - visitors too of course.
I would reiterate my "shop local" email of a short while ago - we'll all benefit by looking first at what we have here, before going out of Town.
Support your local shops.
Do we need another Dover Loyalty Scheme ?
Sussex Bookshops has closed in a clean way, hopefully it may be taken too, soon.

I was pleased to find the Army Surplus store from the Indoor Market in a shop today!! Well my 8 year old was and promptly spent his pocket money

They have still got their signage to do but nice shop opposite Ladbrokes.

another disused shop coming back into use.
use to to be a motor scooter emporium i believe.
dover is definitely bucking the national thread with regard to town centre shops.

Nice to see some real positivity in the town in such difficult economic times.

Looks like the shop on the corner of Pioneer Road/Crabble Hill (opposite the closed filling station) is getting a make-over.
Previously this has been an Antique Shop and a Vets, and no doubt had other uses.

I thought I saw a "LET"sign in the shop next door to the Video Shop on London Road, does anyone know who's taken this one. It's been closed such a long time I think I remember it being a clothes shop years ago.

A "To Let" sign went up on Phillips and Drew this morning, ready for when they finally move to London Road.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Ah, you had me baffled there Sheli. I think you must mean Charlton centre in the High Street. Yes, it's good to see somewhere else opening. Sadly though Peter Drew's shop next to the Centre will be empty once they move up to London Road. They should have gone last month but the new one needed a lot more doing to it.
33 London Road has now opened in competition to Best Deals and the old Petals and Blooms next to Central Cafe is being renovated. It is also rumoured that the cafe itself which has been opened and closed more times than the docks swingbridge will move a bit more upmarket and run by a very successful business nearby.
