Join in a gentle walk starting at 2pm around the Hoe to discover the fascinating life story of the Hoe early spider orchids. Suggested donation of £2 appreciated.
LEADER: Paul Holt, White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (01304 225649). MEET: Site management office, Samphire Hoe. The Hoe is sign-posted off the A20 from Dover to Folkestone (TR 294 391 or CT17 9FL). DISTANCE: 1 mile (1.5 hours). GRADE: 2. Dogs on leads.

the weather seems to be brightening up a bit, would suggest that anyone thinking of going rings the number in the first post to see if it is still going ahead.
Would love to go to Samphire Hoe but unfortunately there is no way if one is not becarred (P.S. if unpersoned is OK so is becarred).

many thanks to sue bradford of w.c.c.p for sending us in these photos from yesterday, certainly couldn't have wished for better weather.
the hoe requires constant work to ensure that species resident survive and flourish and that birds and other creatures are attracted to it so more volunteers are always welcome.

a bit of advance notice here of a walk on sunday the 2nd december, the theme is wild winter at samphire hoe.
discover the work that goes into keeping visitors safe from stormy weather and the challenge it creates, the walk is a gentle mile expected to take 90 minutes.
meet at the site office 2 p.m. where paul holt will lead everyone round - rover is welcome on a lead.

doesn't look that promising brian but a glance at earlier posts on this thread shows that samphire hoe staff and visitors are not easily deterred by the vagaries of the weather.

I used to enjoy all these events and guided walks but now the kids have got older no-one wants to come anymore.I,ll have to wait till my grandson gets older.

I find it quite extraordinary that hundreds maybe thousands of people think it right to just litter such a beautiful and serene place.
