Certainly caught the imagination of the public this weekend with Japan beating South Africa which must rank as one of the biggest shocks in any sport let alone Rugby. Now we have the Argentine leading the All Blacks by a point at half time.

Certainly been very successful so far with large and enthusiastic crowds filling the stadia, big one tonight - England V Wales, a match neither team can afford to lose.

England did not play so well in the second half +they should have gone for a goal in the last few seconds and got a draw out of it.

Epic match throughout but we have to beat Australia next Saturday to stay in the competition.

I hope they play better than they did last night...a dismal performance from the England squad.

I wish I could understand the rules more but was highly entertained by the Wales against Fiji game earlier and the current live match between France and Canada is very watchable.

They were saying on the TV even some of the players do not know all the rules and like yourself I do not know them and the off side one gets me all the time ,when is a player offside in Rugby .?

A good thing about the game is the that the referee can call upon TV replays to check on the validity of a try. Sometimes impossible for anyone to judge with the naked eye, there must have been many wrong decisions in the past before they had the facility.

Too much of going for replays spoils the game, a close decision yes but a good referee should not need to keep going for replays.
The game is stop start enough with all the penalty decisions, line ups and scrums, so much so I did not bother watching yesterdays game, can not get my head round it, the game appears to be more about how many penalties you can get rather than "try's" which is what used to make the game exciting.

when a player is in front of the ball carrier.

There's a little more to it than that Brian and it's not always true to say - for example, in a maul, players are in front of the ball carrier but not off-side provided they are bound in.

Watched the South Africa/Scotland game, very entertaining and the Scots after a disasterous first half gave the Springboks a bit of a scare.
Not looking forward to the next match there will too much pressure on the hosts to perform.

Read earlier that the head coach for England gets paid £.400,000 a year with a years rolling contract so he will be walking soon with best part of a million, the players must be on a fair whack.

Highly entertaining game earlier between Samoa and Scotland, lovely open attacking Rugby but yet again the match was won and lost from penalty kicks.

Enjoyed the earlier game between Wales and South Africa, Wales gave everything they could but just not enough. Only 2 tries so the penalties decide again.
