You're right Howard it is KCC who make the rules at the waste site at Whitfield - I don't agree with all their rules, but they are the ones who make them.
Well done Howard; if I see any similar problems, I email waste services, even though I'm not a District Councillor, I still know who to contact and am of course a Town Councillor for this ward.

It's not DDC or KCC, it's the European Commission, Directive 1999/31/EC - used tyres can no longer be put in landfill and have to be recycled, and there is a cost in doing that that has to be paid by the producer i.e. vehicle owner.

It is one thing to pass on the recycling cost, but why quadruple the actual cost other than for profit? Most councils only charge a couple of pounds why is ours so high?
