  Seems a very sensible idea. It is not turning existing roads into toll roads but only new major roads and 'toll lanes' on existing heavily used road.
  
  It is nothing new either - this idea was floated and actively discussed during the last government.
  
  Given the way the public finances have been destroyed by the last government this is one way to 'keep Britain moving' without adding to public spending.
