  Sad to hear about Alan Whicker. One of the old school for sure and a great pioneer of TV journalism. He invented so many new styles and new techniques while cleverly bringing out the best in those interviewed. He was his own invention, so successful was he at it.. that for years many copied the approach, walking along in thoughtful mode.. looking into the ground, then back at you and so on so on. He was a national treasure. Surprising to me that he was never given a knighthood as they seem to dole them out for a lot less nowadays. But there we are.
