Been following the plight of Dover, its residents and those poor truckers over the last few days. Good luck with the clean-up operation, whoever takes that on. I guess the once-lovely seafront area I've posted about here, indeed the entire town centre and cliff-top environments, have suffered greatly. So glad I visited and saw the town before Covid and Brexit did their worst. Wishing Dover residents and anyone travelling at this difficult time the best of luck and, hopefully, a brighter New Year.

Just watched last week's Gardeners' World and saw the fantastic gardens created by volunteers from an eyesore on the seafront at Deal. Could something like this be created in the sunken areas in front of the Gateway flats at Dover?

I think Dover has had lovely flowers on the seafront and lovely fountains
But sadly all this was taken away in a short sighted move .

Who said anything about Rotary Clubs and bedding. This was a community volunteer gardening group planting perennials which really suited the seafront location, i.e. low cost and very therapeutic; they don't have to be ripped up and redone every year like bedding plants. Why not take a look as it's on your doorstep?

Sounds lovely, is it permanent, or just summer bedding. I was thinking something more long term might be appropriate.

Nice to see some attention being spent on this area, however. Thank-you Rotary volunteers for adopting this little piece of my past - perhaps it's the start of a brighter future?
