which is true, are they or arnt they.over to you ddc.

#2 Paul, I understood that they had signed an 'Agreement for Lease' which is not the same thing as a lease.

Mr. Watkins, for someone who says they're always 'happy to chat' post #2 was rather short and sharp.

I think this is what Brian is referring to............
Just received this reply to my e-mail - I wonder if Dover District Council would care to comment?
"Thank you for contacting Cineworld.
In response to your email, there are no current plans to open a new Cineworld Branch in Dover. If this is to change, information will be publicised via the media and on our website.
I hope this information has helped.
Kind Regards,

Interesting reference to an FOI request - such requests can only be made of public authorities, not companies. I don't think you should read too much into the fact that someone in "customer services" was not aware of the company's future plans for growth.

Exactly Kevin, they are usually there to pacify disgruntled customers.

Just received this from the Head of Regeneration - I hope it clarifies the current state once and for all:
Following contact with Cineworld, they have confirmed that the earlier comment was issued in error (which is being rectified).
Cineworld has released the following response:
"Cineworld Cinemas have signed up to the St James Area Redevelopment scheme in Dover as per the Agreement in place with Bond City Limited.
We look forward to working with Laker Developments to bring a new 6 screen cinema to the local community."
