Just to cheer up all the worriers on here, tomorrow, Saturday 21st May 2011, is the date that some Christian groups believe the "rapture" will happen. For those who do not know what that is it is when some believe the righteous (supposed to be about 3% of the population) will ascend bodily to their preferred heaven. Bad news if your airline pilot is one of the 'good guys'.
Others just think that earthquakes will destroy the earth.
So, who's out for a drink tomorrow?

That might mean that we'll be in for a general election soon, then. If all the righteous go, Parliament will be empty!

6pm tonight it is supposed to be the time, but as that is in America and we are five hours in front (Eastern Seaboard time that it), we should have been destroyed by now; thankfully another crackpot idea.

Well call me a wimp but I'm worried about it - sorry but that sort of prediction does.
I need someone to tell me it definitely won't happen to stop me being scared. As tonight gets nearer I get more worried

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

Well I was in the right place today - a cemetery!

The Nunhead cemetery open day in London.
The only truth about the end of our plannet is when the sun expands and explodes in about 5 billion years time , also as the moon is moving away by a short distance each year the affect of this could also end our stay on this plannet. Further more our nearest galaxy will tear in to our galaxy in a few billion years which will also end our plannet , plus the ongoing threat of commets and asteroids , we should feel very lucky we are here at all .

The man mainly behind this prediction, although others have come up with the same date, did originally predict it for 1994. Apparently he got his calculations a 'little bit' wrong.
I don't think we will reach anything like the levels of panic and/or expectation seen 31st December 999 AD, or even 1999 AD.

In 1999 the only thing i was panicking about was me staying sober till after midnite as i was working as a dj at the old gate in . It was verry special as it was the first new years eve with my now wonderful wife .
Oh yes that was the nite you mr Clements fell down my parents steps after to many adult pops!

Roger
Sorry to spoil your day but it looks like I'll be around posting my muck stirring missives for a little bit longer.
Although it was touch and go at one stage when the wife kicked me in the ''raptures'' for sliding out the house for a beer.
