500 people protesting about Wall Street Corporate Greed,Fast Buck,Predator Society block `Brooklyn Bridge`and caused disruption to Manhattan and obtained world wide coverage!!!!!
The say they were defending 99% of US Population against the wealthiest 1 % .....................Interesting!!!!!!!!!
At the last Hospital Rally in Dover we had 2,000 people................Where is Dovers `Brooklyn Bridge`?
When is the rally in Dover....and where?
It should have a dual protest the cronic state of the Town and the lack of a decent Hospital.....
There IS plenty of money, most certainly what Ratepayers pay....where is it all going?
No politics.................Action Please

charlie;
now your doing the talk lol
yep we moan about the french(and at times correctly) but they don't mess about
there protests bring parts of france to a standstill
just like the US rally
but here in the UK it takes a lot for people to even protest that things may be wrong.
different mindsets

There was a passing remark on this forum by Paul Watkins....Watty!! who retorted..............Well, I am an elected member!!!
Elect we do time and time again....................However, to do something, and something good.................even little and often....maintenance, care and respect..........Our Town would benefit from this, not grandiose schemes etc....
Providing Consultants with a good living over the years, when all they had to do was to study the old maps and photographs of Dover and revive it....Simple.
Dover was beautiful before the War.....and this could happen again...with imagination and vision....the Port needs to come back to the Town...and the elected representatives need to keep their ear to the ground, and not think they are something special or important...because they are not...they are elected representatives by the people to do something, and show this when they are in office, instead of bickering constantly...

Quite agree, Charlie. Keith and BarryW can be left to get on with the bickering, let the rest of us try to get something done.

Yes we do a good rally in Dover Reg. Here is a picture of our famous Anti Prison Rally all those years ago. Gwyn Prosser and Paul Watkins and all the leading politicians of all sides joined together and it was a fabulously successful campaign. Great turnout that day.
I have another picture somewhere with you Reg, leading from the front as ever, but Im dammed if I can find it for the moment. Its gone from its location..grrrr!!
But enjoy this one. One from the archives.

#1....Dover's Brooklyn Bridge, Western Docks and all roads leading to it but I do not think the town would appreciate that regardless of the good cause. To be practical I would say leave Jubilee Way and the dock entrance clear and block the other roads especially Townwall and Snargate.

jan, york street roundabout would be better,as long as the slip is coverd as well.
kieth, law breaking no just making a point.nothing to do with being left or right.
Just a thought, but that prison would have created jobs..........

One more thought: given the level of engagement of the local population compared to that in Brooklyn or indeed in many urban US areas (I have mates over there) I can't imagine the locals even understanding why such an action was being taken much less caring. Perhaps I have had a challenging week....!! Apologies for the slightly downbeat attitude.

More than 700 protesters have been arrested in New York, some sprayed in the eyes with a chemical substance by the Police and brutally dragged off to prison.
The number of protesters goes in the thousands, and millions of people world-wide are expressing their support.
Th media had tried to downplay the protests for many days, but the public has been informed over the Web by numerous sites, and the media had to comply and give coverage, so as not to be seen as involved in censor.
I found out about the protests some four days ago.
The public opinion is critical of the way the authorities are handling the protests, using violence and chemical sprays against peaceful demonstrators. May-be the fat-cats think we are just pests, and use pesticide.
People have had enough of the wealthy speculators and fat cats that have run our economies down and are still getting away with it, and filling their pockets with money galore, helping themselves while the masses are suffering and crying out.

Keith, my information tells me that very high-profile economists, including George Soros, have recently said that there will be a great economic crash in Europe, America and Asia, and of-course Britain.
Soros also said that the European governments have lost control of the economy. More and more people, whose position in economy is high-profile, are saying that it is a matter of months.
The juggling will go on for a while, as one financial fund is used to invest in some other bankrupt economy or bank, but now even a number of banks, according to some economic analysts, are about to crash.
The best way to keep informed is to use the Web more diversely, as I do, because many realistic forecasts are found hidden, and the main-stream media, perhaps understandably, don't want to forecast the imminent collapse of the economy as we know it today.
