  once again its the railways doing themselves an injustice
  they removed ticket barrier staff to have open stations thus passengers arrive at the station having no idea where to go, who to talk to and best way to travel.
  
  british rail as it was some 15 years was losing million of unpaid fares when the barrier staff were removed and continue to do so.
  
  it also does little for customer confidence, and makes stations very unfriendly places to visit.
