Yes, it's true. I just hope I don't clam up, I'm very nervous and have never done anything like this before. It's about a specific WW2 aspect of the heights rather than a general chat about WHPS as a society.

Good luck Phil just imagine you are chatting with a long term friend it should help the nerves. I will be on my way to work so I will miss the broadcast.

All the best, Phil. Tell them what you want to tell them not what you think they want to hear and don't feel tempted to fill the pauses - that's their job! You will be fine.

think before you answer dont worry about the pauses
but get your message across and make sure you keep to that subject and not allow the geezer to take you off the subject

Thanks for all the advice - very much appreciated. I'll try my best - this wasn't planned, I just got a shock call out of the blue!
On a different note, us WCCP volunteers got 56 bags out of the river today and an illegal tethered net. A good haul.

I suggested to Phil that a new career might be beckoning and he did admit that his face was right for radio.

Ha! About right Peter. The face that sunk a thousand ships.
Interesting experience. Went to a remote location at DDC at Whitfield and was sat in an isolated room with headphones and a mike. There was no-one else present and all instructions came through the headphones. I hope it came over OK; I daren't listen to it myself - too scared!
