Ring the Captain up and tell him to turn right.

I shall have to believe it`s a mirage caused by the warmer weather we`ve had today. Great picture Paul. And she does look like like a ship should look, not boxlike, with grafitti on the side.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

Excellent photos.Thanks
When I was in the States I went to see the Queen Mary now docked at Long Beach. What a super old lady of the sea and well cared for by our American cousins.

Cousins Marek? They are nothing more than colonial rebels who don't know how to make tea and who will, one day, see the error of thir ways and ask to be ruled by us again. Well, not if I had my way!!!

Yes but at least they are not Polish

But wait a moment Marek. I saw a Hollywood blockbuster film recently where they, the friendly fire Yanks, captured the Enigma machine from rotten old Gerry. So, perhaps they THINK they are Poles!!!!?

She is indeed a beautiful ship, better than the floating Butlins' that come through here!

Yes the pictures came out quite good when you consider she was a long way out. But I dont know whether it was the gorgeous evening light or what, but there was something truly majestic or even heavenly in the air as she floated ever so gently by. It was like all other channel traffic was suspended while she passed...but I may be getting carried away..
Terry yes its good location and I can get pix up in 5 minutes or so..so pretty fast.

For such an elegant ship to have passed through the channel, its a shame that we could not have had a closer look.
But our on the spot editor always ready with his trusty camera made sure we didnt miss it

Must be quite a sight, our Ed. on the balcony with his big zoom out!

lol!

I dont think I better comment further Sid!!
Good to see today that The Dover Mercury have used well one of our pictures of the Queen Mary as shown above passing by, and have added lots of details that we didnt know (and at the same time gave this website a proper mention). Golly she tips the scales at a staggering 151,400 tons...well I never knew that. I wonder would she even fit in Dover.
There are more details too but pop out and get The Mercury for the full scenario.

I`ve noted in a current shipping monthly, that the Queen Mary 2 is due to depart Southampton at 16.30 on 25th June for the Norwegian fjiords and New York. Does this mean it`ll be coming round the channel again, or sailing via the Irish sea?
