    Its still open at the moment,we went down there today for a walk.There was so many people along there today enjoying the good weather,cant believe how the DHB wish to destroy it when most towns cherish their piers.Will be great to see a container port,what a tourist attraction that will be.The seafood stall was making preparations to move their stall half way along the prom near the slipway.They seem to know that something will happen soon so i doubt it will be long.I expect DHB will wait just a little longer till the good weather has gone knowing that not many people will be going to the seafront and then theyll shut it hoping it will soften the blow a little.
