do any of our members have any more details, i thought it always looked fairly busy.
i think some of our members drink in there.

I was in there only the other night for fortification prior to the riquors of the Town Hall People's Port event. Young Charlie Elphicke was in there too and we had a bit of a small chat before he departed...destined as I thought for the panel on the stage. He had his young PA with him who was over across the pub a bit, propping up the bar! But in the nicest possible way. You may remember we had a pic of the lady in question on our frontpage recently at the Pitman Launch.
That night it was quite busy so it seemed to be trundling along well.

"Prince Albert", now there is a name for a bolt-hole.

that surprises me jan, the pub is in a prime position, has plenty of day time trade and all seats outside are taken during the summer.
i believe they have music nights, i think tony jayms wets his whistle there too.
the night of the neilport at the town hall i saw charlie having a crafty fag outside, i must add that in this litigious age i was referring to a cigarette.

If it is owned by a pub co and I assume it is, then when they come to the end of a lease or tenancy at will they are obligated to advertise the pub for let and invite offers, even though they wish to renew the lease with the current lessee. This is purely a formal process they need to go through and should not be construed to mean the lease is necessarily up for sale etc.

Covering up after you've said it Howard, too late, going to Email Charlie straight away. Far too much libel on this site.

From my perspective absolutely nothing wrong with a crafty or even an overt fag, so long as he is not too camp

Didn't know he was a lawyer Howard, he's used to it then, one could say he's a proper professional.

Steve will be at the Travel & Leisure Show tomorrow representing the Prince Albert so come along and have a chat.
I think the summer will bring many more visitors to the town in to the pub. The food is all locally sourced and cooked to order. The food's good (Steak & Ale Pie especially) and they've the best chips in town I've tasted.
Last Thursday night was the first of Colin & Mick's Open Mic nights and it was a tremendous success. Colin (Hinds) is the guitarist with China Crisis (for those young enough to remember) and Mick (Morris) is a local musician. That's happening is every three weeks so come along to the next on 31 March.

No Peter, but I have tasted your excellently prepared food. I thought you only served potato wedges actually. I knew I'd get in trouble

And of course you do serve plenty of well-cared for real ale (which I have also tasted).

It's amazing how this great forum moves in mysterious ways, from a 'pub to let' sign, to 'our Charlie', then overt fags (not too camp), public school habits

and a portion of chips

Luvvit!

The problem with your chips Peter is that you do too many, for me anyway. Actually, we shall be in tomorrow, it's my birthday so I hope it's safe!.
