  The problem Brian is that Labour just cannot stop spending and they keep on spending driving the economy into the ground. You cannot spend yourself out of debt prblems.
  
  Martin. Those who blame America for the UK's economic problems or just the 'global recession' or even the Euro simply ignore the many serious errors by Brown that I have pointed out many times in the past that placed the UK in such an appalling position at the start of the cyclical downturn in 2007. Nobody, not America, not Europe, none other then Gordon Brown was in charge when he went on his spending spree during the part of the economic cycle when he should have been 'balancing the books'. Or when he got the inflation brief to the Bank of England wrong keeping interest rates too low too long, or when he screwed around with banking regulation etc. etc. You cannot blame anyone else for that irresponsibility. Now we are suffering the consequences.
  
  The fact that some other European countries were also fiscally irresponsible over the same period and also were daft enough to join the Euro is no excuse.
