  Keith - the short-list was drawn up locally and went through several stages. He was Dover's selection, no-one else had an input. We, of course had the 700 or so strong candidate list from central office from which all candidates are drawn, all Parties have them. The list included well known local association activists, one of which I referenced and helped get on that list.
  
  You love your innuendo but the fact is that Charlie's residence in Sandwich and family in Shepherdswell makes him as local as anyone can be. He was also entirely the choice of local people. Your wishful thinking cannot change that.
