  Ross - our honourable member was most certainly not 'parachuted in'.
  
  A Sandwich resident with family connections to this constituency at the time he was selected, he was selected by the local selection committee from a long list that did include local councillors. Done on merit entirely. I speak as someone who supported another candidate from the shortlist and who would also say what a good choice has has proven to be.
  
  To say he was parachuted in suggests he was selected by someone other than a local selectors. Only local members had a vote over who the candidate would be.
