Shocking to read about this kind of violence so close to home, very unnerving indeed. The rule of thumb is never to walk home alone late at night but of course that is not always possible. In the case of the mother and daughter, one would think they would be relatively safe to do so together but it appears not. Thank goodness they were OK. My two daughters, when home from Uni often go down to the Funkey Monkey with their friends, pleased to say they have never encountered any trouble there.
It's good to have this information coming in to us here on Doverforum from the Police, keeps us all informed and maybe one or two of us can help them with more information.
Also terrible to read about the motorcycle crash near Sandwich, the poor chap is only 30yrs old and in a critical condition at Kings in London, hope and pray that he recovers, I wonder if he is a local lad.
Thought I would mention an incident I encountered a couple of weeks ago whilst driving back from Folkestone along the dark end of East Cliff. I was driving alone when suddenly a car ahead of me came to an abrupt stop in the middle of the road and about five young lads jumped out and started bashing each other. They saw my car behind them, they looked very menancing so I quickly did a u turn and got out of there fast. It was quite a frightening experience but I managed to get home safely along another route.
