This was not a matter of mere offense, if it was then not a problem.
This was a clear allegation of dishonesty and professional misconduct against myself and my clients. It is not something that can be taken lightly or ignored by someone in my position on my own behalf AND that of my clients. One thing I make sure that I do at all times in my profession is act within the regulations and laws of the land and certainly will never recommend to clients that they do anything differently.
PaulB is quite right.
If this was a mere spat between friends & acquaintances it could be ignored but these webposts are seen far and wide by people who do not know those involved added to which the allegations went beyond just me.
I will be discussing this at my meeting with my solicitor and I will take his advice. I did not say I would be taking legal action but I do not entirely rule it out as it depends on how my solicitor views this.

baz;l
you should i feel consider if you wish to post yourself, not something i would normally say, but im afraid you will have put a lot of people on the back foot some probably won't post.
John would not have made any comment unless under banter, and as i said had it been any other person who had been offended i could maybe understand it, but blimey baz come on.
unless you two calm it, and you withdraw this legal cra* your in danger of splitting the forum

if we can calm the situation and look rationally at it, barry obviously feels that an accusation was made as to his probity.
john clearly did not intend that, i and most others viewed it as a joke and also there seemed to be no claim of impropriety.
at the end of the day we are a club, most of us know each other, either passing in the street or at social events.
i think it best if we talk things through if there is serious disagreement on something.
that is my personal view not that of dover forum.

If a nameless person pays a nameless solicitor for advice on whether to pursue a particular course of action which will result in further fees being met I wonder what that nameless solicitor may recommend?
Remember even Sutcliffe was defended by a paid for QC.....

The Bishop asks you to leave the ecumenical out of your list Reginald, or risk the eternal purgatory of the Vogan bureaucratic system.

Speaking as a theologian the correct term is " let those without sin lob the first house brick in Dover on a far right demo" Deutoronomy Chapter 5 verse 2.

I like form filling so I'll take my chances, though I don't believe I would make it to purgatory, that would suggest I would wish to atone for or be cleansed of my sins.

Marvellous stuff. In these cash-strapped times, couldn't we save a bob or two by scrapping the judiciary, CID and CPS and rely on Lord Hain and the Tory whips office instead?
