our award winning promenade and beach looked as good as if not better than any english seaside resort today.
definitely one of our best assets.
Great photos Howard I was down there yesterday and it was idyllic

Yes a very busy day down on the seafront. Nice pictures there Howard, its all busy busy. Bet the caterers are doing some good business refreshing the populace as they bake in the heat. So rare to get a summer day with a bit of warm sun...and now good golly miss molly two have come along at once. I heard someone say that the other day about the royal wedding.
"You dont have one for ages then two come along at once."

I love the new seafront ( mind you I liked the old one as well ) All we need to do now is spread the new look under that dreadful underpass and into the town , Again a genuine question , was a footbridge linking the from to the town never considered ?

Don't think it was Sarah, but part of the plans that circulate every so often there was talk of a land bridge from De Bradlei and over to Bench Street area
Been nice knowing you :)
What a lovely scene. How hard can it be to sell this?! A bit of a tidy up and facelift for Dover and we are up there with the greats!

Was certainly nice say on the balcony of the Sea Sports Centre after our walk yesterday - I think the service has improved with the new 'owners'

Been nice knowing you :)

Even when it's stifling hot or the nights are humid a trip down to Dover seafront is so refreshing day or night.
Just to be sat there with a flask of coffee enjoying the night air ,listening to the sea ebb and flow ,the to and fro-ing of ferries and watching the bright lights flickering in far off France'
God it's good to be alive and to live near the coast.

Some great pictures there Howard, really captures yesterdays lovely summers day

.
Marek you are so right when we have days like yesterday, you wouldn't want to be anywhere else

Did I ever tell you about one beautiful morning, around 04.00, a few years ago, when I took our old dog for a walk by the sea? Lovely and bracing and sparsely populated, apart from one young guy who walked past us and said Good Morning. I sat on a bench and the dog sat with me. We looked out at the sea. We looked down at the beach. The guy was down there butt naked and walking into the sea. Of course I covered the dogs eyes and told him not to look - I felt obliged to, just in case something untoward happened, you understand. There was a dilemma: do I walk away and pretend not to have seen him (it was clearly a cold day.......) or do I hang around in case it was a Reggie Perrin jobbie. Well, we stayed. He had a skinny dip, said a charming Good Morning on his way back, and the dog had counselling.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

as it was so cold i assume you did not have to tell him it was rude to point bern.
For a while it could have been Shaun or Shirley, Howard. But I guess it was a bracing start to the day.

yet another glorious day.
couldn't work out what this family were trying to do other than get their feet wet.
fairly clear what this lad was about to do, the video about tombstoning did not strike a chord with him.
a more sensible way of enjoying the seafront here.
