well to show my postings remain in an unbiased fashion i need to review/disagree/debate the above article.
When the one way in clarendon was proposed some time ago at a public meeting
those opposing the scheme rejected it and the message to the council was it wasnt required.
it appeared at that time residenbts in clarendon street opposed the plans- asa they turned up to reject the proposals whilst those in clarendon place/road in favour but stayed away.
I have stated on this forum before that it is unclear if residents support/object to the proposals, and the area is one that has a big turnover of people who live there.
further to this, kcc/ddc/police/other agencies wouldnt support a scheme because of local residents divisions.
of course the plan at the time had planters in the road etc and wasnt a good plan
but firstly what does(in my opinion)have to be done is to get local residents support, as im not convinced it is there even today.
All the emergency services were happy with present set up.
Before spending any dosh of our money we need to make sure its what people want, or we could find we waste a lot of dosh
