I'll check these junctions and if Double Yellow Lines are required, I'll ask for them to be done through the JTB.

there needs to be enforcement as well roger, people park on the double yellows at the start of clarendon place near the malvern pub knowing it is very rare that wardens visit the area.

Before trial ban on traffic, Stagecoach buses on the 4, 6 and UNIBUS routes were, and still are, Enviro 400's, the same as on our 101 and 102 routes. They fitted through the arch then and I wonder why they apparently don't now!

first day of the new service and it has been running a few minutes late, not surprising as it is a new route to the drivers.
i boarded the 1434 from priory street and we spent 15 minutes stuck in clarendon place due to bad parking. the driver phoned his office then dialed 999 (not sure the police would be interested), a couple of residents used some choice language over the incessant use of the horn by the bus driver. eventually the van causing the obstruction moved and we cheerily continued our journey.

thanks roger but today was not a double yellow problem as the problem was halfway down clarendon place not at a junction.
ideally one side of the road could be yellow lined forcing people to park in their garage/hard standing at the rear of their property, realistically we know this will not happen.

O.K. Howard, but that was just today. I'll wait and see what answer I get.

the second week and today saw no buses in the clarendons, after bad parking in clarendon place stopped the first run of the day.
bring back regent coaches.

another bad day with the bus unable to keep to the timetable and eventually giving up the ghost early afternoon.
totally ridiculous situation with drivers having to toot their horns repeatedly to get people out to park properly, ddc car parking appear to have no interest in the matter preferring to deploy wardens in areas where they can gather revenue.

I suspect you need a local 'celebrity' to live there before anything will be done, do none of the TC or DDC councillors live in the affected roads.
Maybe you could get the local TV media involved as it is not only the bus affected but also emergency vehicles by poor parking.

I wouldn't like to see the Media involved - Press or TV, but I do feel that something urgent needs to be done to resolve this continuing problem.
I have now emailed the Parking Services Manager and copied in other Officers and senior Councillors, so hopefully they'll put their heads together and come up with a long-term solution.

Roger, your officers have obviously put this issue in the 'too difficult' tray. A bit of media exposure might get them to focus on it. I recommend the BBC SE tv news team (Simon Jones, Peter Whittlesea, Polly Evans, etc.)

Maybe they have Peter, but there should never be a "too difficult" tray. There should be nothing too difficult for Paul W. to oversee.

i have no confidence that this problem will be solved as there is not the will to do so.
media involvement, as suggested, is probably the right direction to take.
