Surprised no mention of the banner flags around town for the Olympics - quite a few seem to have appeared in the last few days ??
Been nice knowing you :)

Yes noticed them on Castle Hill this morning. Very nice. Would be good to have them all the way down the A20, after all it would give the tourist coming over for it a bit of excitement. It would also remind those leaving why they are getting away!

This is just the start, the Market Square will be awash with Olympic branding soon.

I've seen them too now and they look pretty good.
As another legacy, they could be used afterwards to promote up and coming events (we all complain about not knowing what's going on until it has happened) and/or local businesses; the brackets are in place, so it's just the banner that would be used and with replacement lettering, not expensive either.
Someone needs to talk to some else - which again (broken record sundrome ?) is where the Town-Team Manager/Co-ordinator comes in.

I just noticed these banners last evening outside the port. They caught the late sun so shone very bright indeed with all the varied colours. Never noticed them before. Roger might have an idea there, they are very good marketing tools.

Thanks Paul
They certainly look good there and would help make people aware of any up and coming event or marketing ploy for a business.
They could be made available for quite a number of different purposes and businesses.
I can't/won't be the Town-Team Manager, but someone should/could be and working in this way will boost everyone.

They have been up for at least a week and mark the route of the Olympic Torch.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Shame it takes a big event to glam up the area. Do you think we get a Team GB flag big enough to cover Burligton house?
