20:1994370Hope you get it cleared.
As a suggestion why not have separate threads for the Priory, Castle and London Road Forums. It's easier to see what each other are up to and progressing that way - otherwise it gets confusing.

21:0194381doubt that will happen, the frustrating truth is that all threads go off topic at some stage.

Heaps of rubbish pulled out on the triangle of land behind Barton School yesterday - this is just part of it. (We know who you are...) Hopefully it will be cleared away soon.

It's shocking if that's what happened, you've done a great clean up there

No this is what we found on the site as we cleared it
To date we have had some 35 sacks of rubbish removed, taken at least 10 recycling crates of bottles to the recycling bins and amassed two large piles of large rubbish - one of which Phil has photographed above.
We have now finished clearing the vegetation - next weekend we will burn off the remaining cut bramble and Buddleia etc and do a final rubbish pick on the site; we are hoping to get a skip to put all the big rubbish in as well.

Yes the end is near, alot of work has be done, and the good thing is that the public can see that, and that might just mean we see other s taking it up in their own wards.Well done to the L.R.F.

The increase in dumping is appalling; as Vic says hopefully more may be done locally where there are problems, in wards or villages. On the spot.
It was said in the news the other day that because of cuts there will be more uncleared rubbish! Heaven help us ! Voluntary litter wardens needed ... with on-spot fines ...

Well done all - I popped round Sunday morning and had a quick look through the fence - you've really worked wonders. Sorry I couldn't pop into the site but I was suited and booted as I had come straight from the memorial service for those who lost their lives in the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster.

The old scrap yard is all overgrown again, will anything ever happen there?
At least the corrugated iron shed has recently been removed, one less place for undesirables to congregate.

As you can read we cleaned it out some years ago it was going to be turned into a garden come sit down and walking place but that came to nothing before that the D.D.C. PLANNING as it was then turndown housing on it.
I do not know where it all goes from here like a lot of Dover already nothing.

When I passed by there there a few weeks ago there were some workmen in there I asked what was going on,& I was told that were told to clear,it up,but they did not know how far to go,so after a couple of hours they packed up. But they did say that it was going to be houses & flats, but they did not know when. so we will have to keep a eye on it.

Great pics Karlos
I think this historical evidence along with the new school development may actually go some way to managing at least some of the planners objections.
It however is unlikely to deal with the concerns they had over vehicular access from Cherry Tree or the number of parking spaces the local development guideline demands

Just been re-reading some old Dover Society newletters before disposing of.
3 years after it was cleared the site was overgrown and here we are a further 10 years later.
Isn't it about time something was done? Barton Path is also not much better at the moment.

Sadly, the landowner is no more minded to sell the land than DDC are to grant his planning applications, so it still sits in limbo
