21:0468929i don't know how you find this information paul.
anyway 2 questions.
1) where will p & o do their training?
2) why did they not use a local estate agent.
i suspect that the first answer is that they may find new capacity in the wedding cake.

21:0568930Not sure actully Howard, but when I had a brief look in last year they have full size liferafts and slides and similar in there !!
Guess that the space isn't really that practical, but quite fancy being a station master with my own station

21:1068935Howard, Dover isn't very well endowed with commercial real estate agents with a national reach.
Maybe they are going to use the building in Russell Street in future.

06:2368950No it doesn't Bob - not to me anyway, but there are two Dover pubs I recognise that are for sale (one lease, one for sale).
One I am very surprised at.

2 down, 3 across, also 4 down, 1 across.

08:4168958Howard, Countrywide plc, who own Bairstow Eves, Mann & Co, and Geering and Colyer use the Rightmove website, but it only carries residential properties as they don't have a commercial arm.
Of all the other agents, Tersons is probably the one with a genuine commercial side to their business. However, the Tersons website doesn't work and they also advertise their properties on Rightmove.
Cluttons are specialists with a global reach and that is probably why DP are using them. They also have a far superior reputation for commercial property transactions than do the locals.

09:3668959I can see it all now, Scotchie battling away to get Dover Harbour Station up and running again, shades of The Titfield Thunderbolt

11:0968966It would make a lovely home for a deaf lorry and train enthusiast who has the need for a large parking area with courtyard garden.
The main drawback could be getting the change of use through planning.

20:1169012We put a lease on Blakes on the Market 3 years ago when prices were at their peak. Sidney Phillips have kept it on their books ever since even though the original marketing agreement lapsed in late 2008. We own the freehold and will continue to do so. When the market recovers the rent will be a major part of our pension.

20:3469017A couple of tempting properties here, and wouldn`t that old Dover Town station building make a good transport museum, or is it as much out of the way as it`s present place is at Whitfield?

21:0069024Just to confuse things Colin - Dover Town Station is now the old railway siding used for Del Monte containers !!
The Harbour Station is actually quite small...

22:1269048Yes you`re right of course Jenni, more a dig though about the present museum being so much out of town, and the way.

06:3869074Is that a recent advert for Westmount Paul - I thought it was sold by KCC some time ago - with planning permission of course.
Good Luck with your pension Peter - some years to go I'm sure !
See you this evening.
Don't forget people, it's Blakes fun quiz-night tonight (and every Tuesday).
