They have now completed half of the new road and are digging up the other side. The 'done' side has been resurfaced but of course you can certainly see the join...but lets not be too hasty as it was only done earlier today and may need time to blend in. Good to see that The Mercury took up the story.
I dont understand the issue re surface water, but let me just say there wasnt any surface water issue where they dug it up. There is a surface water issue 60 yards away in the Millers carpark ( rear) which turns into Lake Geneva after a bit of average rain fall...but where they dug it up there wasnt a surface water issue, although with regards to a layman like myself, no doubt I wont be seeing the full picture.
But as said earlier, it was almost a classic case wasnt it. Brand new roadway and within minutes they dig it up. Bit of a shame. Good to see Nigel was on the case. They, The Highways Agency, certainly know they have been spotted and will be very inclined to do the smoothest job possible at this juncture.
