  As thought, they have come across some unexpected problems with the drainage in Druro Place that has made it necessary to link to the system that is across Marine Parade.
  
  Kent Highways appropriate manager was on the case first thing yesterday morning - apparently the work needs doing in the light of the heavy rainfalls we have been experiencing as we don't want to see surface water flooding anywhere, especially in the central part of the town. Just a shame they have tried to clean the gullies out after the resurfacing and found the unforseen problems.
  
  However, in the Email I received there is a ray of hope in that the Highways manager has, and I quote: 'had a chat with the resurfacing team and they have advised me that, as the resurfacing was done so recently and as we used a grip fibre technique, we will be able to reinstate the carriageway in such a way that the surface will blend and there will be no obvious 'join' where the works have been carried out'.
  
  I have replied that I will be keeping my eye on it.
