Today I watched the video On the Dover athletic website(www.doverathletic.com)
and the season's awards.
There was a great evening, but some searching questions.
On the evening the volunteers who help to keep the club running were all named and interviewed, and thanked, and it was interesting to see there view and how the volunteers spent so much time at the ground and the many jobs they do.
Our very own forumite paul harrison got an award for his tireless voluntary work he does for the club.
without these many volunteers the club would not survive.
But I also listerned to the manager interview (nicky forster)who said ALL the
players worked hard for the club, sadly results showed that not to be the case,
the concern here is does the manager feel the squad he has is good enough
for promotion(having lost out this season)
to be fair to the manager hes only been with the club for 7 months
so next season is the one he should be judged more on.
but hopefully the summer break he will(hopefully already is)thinking about which players will still be with the club, and which players he should release.
of course he also should think about what players he brings to the club, and the passion with it.
he does have a good point that the club can only afford to be part time, therefore they only as a manager see the players twice a week at training for an hour and a half, which makes things difficult as to what to prioratise on.
Wherever dover are/whatever league i will be there
heres to a great 2012/2013
