looks like some unions are looking to go to its members but that doesn't mean they will accept any new proposals looks the major unions are still not looking to propose acceptance

Keith - Isn't that a reflection on the union leaders themselves and their own political agenda ?

No, disagree with you on this one, the union leaders are trying to get the best deal possible for its members, i see no political agenda on this one.

This is an issue that will have to be re-visited again. The government's proposals, before any concessions, were far too generous and will not solve the problems of the scheme.
Any deal will only be a temporary reprieve.

No just the impression given when some of the union officials are interviewed.
You know I don't do politics Keith.

I would have thought it obvious Keith - many union leaders are so removed from their general membership and never experience any of the hardships they face, they must have a separate political agenda.

Regardless Keith - this issue will not go away simply because it is not being fully addressed.

cool heads are required there are political agendas here.
dave wants a battle with the unions and the union leaders are of the same mind.
the losers will be the public sector workers and us the public unless common sense takes over.

There is no doubt barryw's dave and his lib dem counter part(soon to be a tory) alexander are out to take on the unions.
the unions themselves may have a few leaders wanting to take on the govt
but those days should be long gone, and the majority of the unions are trying to reach some kind of agreement
some are close to it
this will be an ongoing saga

I believe there has been a sudden withdrawl from any agreement by Unite , Unison and possibly PCS due to the unscripted intervention of Eric Pickles who suddenly has announced a reversal of some elements already agreed . I dont have the full details but think they are avalaible on line , if its true then the blessed Eric must join the list of Ministerial BUffoons

eric was first on the list sarah.
very worrying as he is a friend of blue barry, paul w spoke less highly of him.
It would appear that he may have been less than sensitive in his timeing and handeling of this issue, no change there then !
Its unite , unison and GMB that have withdrawn thier support form the agreement announced yesterday , might get messy from now on
