a relative newcomer to the rubbish industry, this is belgrave house at the bottom of my road.
amsterdam house a serial offender.
this is clearly a job for that man of letters roger walton and his henchman paul(the enforcer) jaconelli.
their methods are not for the squeamish but are proven to work.

true to form the litter from the one in belgrave road covers most of the road as a result of the strong winds.

Gawd!! this is awful and as you say Howard with the strong winds the situation just gets worse. Good luck with Veolia, John, a brilliant idea

i don't think veolia can actually do much more than collect.
waste services can enforce people to obey the rules and they have done for the most part.
there are only so many hours in the day and so many staff to go around telling people what they should do.
only fines or court summonses will work on those who choose not to comply.

Do you know if the rubbish is still there Howard - in both locations ?
I started to send an email, but stopped as today is collection day round here and I haven't had the opportunity to check whether it has been collected.

don't know about amsterdam house roger but the belgrave road location was all clear by this afternoon.
judging by the wind strength and direction should be in your front garden around about now.

all appeared later in the day roger, blowing everywhere.
problem now is that there is no street cleaner until monday, will keep an eye out to see what happens this week.
i cannot see how so much extra rubbish can suddenly be generated.

Nor me Howard.
I walked down into Town again today and outside 95 was overfilled wheelie bins with dirty nappies all over the pavement.
As I was photographing this urban blight, one of the residents came out and I said to her "you can't leave rubbish like this here" - she mumbled and grumbled and I asked her to tidy it up; when I came back up, it was all neat and tidy.
Another unsightly aspect of the road is the increasing amount of weeds growing through the concrete of people's properties.

the problem is one of subletting roger and it has to be dealt with quickly for 2 reasons.
1) conning the benefits system.
2) children are living in these conditions.

nice we all work together to get things done unlike ross's forum site that says its friendly,,,, but acts the opposite.
anyway, john me old mucker, could i give you a few suggestions(will just list the polite ones lol)
1; rubbish is collected on fridays around here, would it not be better to have road sweepers follow the trucks picking up any rubbish left behind?
2; moved to this location in 1999 not seen a road sweeper in all that time
is this area to pay all this council tax to get nothing?
3; when the grass cutting contract is up for renewal can they be asked to collect the grass cuttings, rather than leave them to be walked into houses.
4; in the council is serious on recycling then could we be provided with one of
the large bins, the small box provided isn't enough for a family of 4
there thats a good starting point

Could some of the rubbish be transported from a business somewhere else that might have to pay for removal. It might even be worth the council checking as there is so much there.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

tut tut Mr S
Anyway surely what is more important is that we ALL work together for the good of Dover, or is point scoring for one's perceived side more important?
