No surprise that the Commons voted against a clamp down on rogue landlords but on a local level I was told that when the issue was raised at District Council many had to leave the room because of a conflict of interests!!

Had a look at the register of interests on DDC Home page and only 7 declare owning more than one property in the district - Pat Heath, Paul Carter. Nick Dixon, Paul Le Chevalier, Sue Le Chevalier, Steve Manion and Adrian Friend. Others own land and what looks like shops and offices but that wouldn't disqualify them from debate on the subject.

Charlie voted against the bill that demanded homes being rented out are suitable for human habitation. The Commons register of interests does not show how many properties MP's own and rent out.
