My Daughter found out a few days ago that my only Grandson nearly 2 has either Diabetis or epeliptic and tests should reveal which one soon.I had already decided to walk Newcastle to Carlisle for Children with Diabetis a local club called the Young Balancers Club before we knew.
Now my daughter has had her scan because she is pregnant again and has been told that she may have a Downs Syndrome baby. The family is quite shocked but the visit to the hospital today will confirm if this is correct.
She has also just been served her eviction notice and we are trying to find her a place to live.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family JHG.
And from me. I need to say that having a child with Downs can be a fantastic experience, whatever people think. That baby is your baby no matter what, and Downs is just another characteristic making that little person unique, just like your other babies. No doubt there can be challenges, but that applies to all children, some more than others, with or without Downs! I would advise your daughter to take plenty of no notice of the negativity and celebrate her baby as her baby. I wish her luck with all the other challenges she is facing and my thoughts are with her.

So sorry to hear of the problems your family is having, one problem can be bad enough to deal with and she has those others as well. My thoughts are with you all.

John, it's always darkest before the dawn. If there's anything we can do please ask.

Thanks for all your good wishes, today she was back at the hospital and I thought we would find out one way or the other, but she has to go back and have a injection into her to check out the fluids around the baby.
Having a Downs Syndrome baby would be a challenge, but I am sure just as rewarding if not more so,it was good to bump into Chris Precious this morning who helped after a little chat!
